The Seasoned Difference
Moisture is the enemy
Here are two Oak logs, both cut at the same time and seasoned for one year. They look and burn very different. The log on the right, has a moisture level of 19% which is okay, but not ideal. It was seasoned under cover for the year. The log on the left was left to be sesoned in the open elements. It has a perfect moisture reading of 10% Notice the cracking taking place because it is drier? That is what to look for and that is what you get from us. We welcome you to pick up a mosture reader yourself and test our wood vs others.
Why it's important
Of course, drier wood burns better! Beyond that, the wetter wood leaves more behind in your chimney. So more cleaning for you, and more risk of chimney fires.
